Allison Brown (b. 1985 Denver, US) lives and works between Denver, Colorado and Barcelona, Spain.
She graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado Denver. She first went to Barcelona for an artistic residency at Jiwar Creació i Societat in 2013, subsequently working for them, painting and organizing exhibitions and open studios.
After exhibiting in and curating exhibitions for a Kaoni Art Gallery, she went on to study textile art and design at the Massana School of Art and Design in Barcelona.
In 2023 she was awarded a one year artistic residency
at Fabra i Coats contemporary art center, where she began to develop her current body of work, which explores human understanding and visual depiction of waterbirds in the Mediterranean region throughout history.
This work was shown in two group exhibitions in Fabra i Coats in 2023. She exhibited at OlivArt Gallery Barcelona (2015, 2016, 2017), both in solo and group shows, at Kaoni Art Gallery (2016 solo show Barcelona), Kanon Collective (2014 Denver, US), Paonia Art Center (2014) and the Arvada Center for the Arts (2013) in Colorado among others.
